Free birthday dessert from California Pizza Kitchen

June is my birthday month, so California Pizza Kitchen sent me an email offering a free dessert on any visit this month.  The coupon expires June 30th, so I have to stop by a CPK location before then to redeem.

Dessert options at California Pizza Kitchen

CPK Free Birthday Dessert 2016From the CPK menu, there are 5 choices for dessert:

  • Salted Caramel Pudding
  • Red Velvet Cake
  • Butter Cake
  • Key Lime Pie
  • Belgian Chocolate Souffle Cake

I’m not big into pie or pudding, so I would choose the Red Velvet Cake.

There doesn’t seem to be a requirement to have dinner at CPK in order to redeem this offer of free dessert.  Be wary of some “deals” because they’ll force you to pay for a couple of regular priced meals in order to get a relatively cheap dessert for “free.”

Which one would you choose?  Have you ever had any of the CPK desserts before?

I love trying local pizza when I travel

Patxi's deep dish pizza
Deep dish pepperoni pizza from Patxi’s Pizza in Santa Barbara, California

I travel about 20-30 times a year, and whenever I travel, I love trying new pizza places.

Whether it is thin-crust NY style or deep-dish Chicago style, I enjoy having a few slices at local pizza restaurants.

To me, having a great pizza goes hand-in-hand with sampling some of the local brews.  So, you’ll often see pictures and references to the beers that I drink with my pizza.

My goal is to get your mouth watering for some tasty pizza… whether that motivates you to travel to have the same pizza pie that I just had, or you pick up the phone and have a local pizza delivered to you.  Either way… pizza is the perfect meal.

When you can’t travel, local is good too

Even though I travel a ton for my day job and my BaldThoughts.com travel blog, there are plenty of places to try where I live in Orange County, California.

Please join me on my journey to eat pizza anywhere and everywhere!
